The end of the school year finally arrived!

It took a while thanks to all of the snow days, but we made it.

Larissa "graduated" from her little yellow preschool that we have adored for two years.

One of the things I feel most blessed about is that I've had the privilege of being able to volunteer in all of my children's classrooms so far.  Fingers crossed that I can do the same when Riss starts kindergarten (sob) next year ( Read more... )

This "back to school" series seems as if it'll never end, eh?  Just wait.  It's not done yet.

Seriously, why can't all of the kids just go back to school on the same day without all the pomp and circumstance?  I'll have to confirm with my mother, but I'm pretty sure that my first day of kindergarten started by my mom sticking me on a bus and waving ( Read more... )

Today I bade farewell to two more of the children.

This year Weston is in 7th grade and is going to middle school alone, not in the shadow of his older brother.  He seemed okay about flying solo until 45 seconds before the bus pulled up.  Then he nervously requested that I drive him to school.  Thankfully he accepted my suggestion that he try it ( Read more... )

Today is the first day of school for the high schoolers.  The rest of the kids go back tomorrow.  This meant that Hayden was flying solo this morning.  Thankfully, every Monday is a "late start", so he didn't have to get up quite as early as he will every other morning.  Another bonus - the neighbor kid Hayden hangs out with has an older brother ( Read more... )

School starts Monday.  As in less than a week from today.  We are in big trouble.  BIG trouble.

How do I know?  Here are a few clues that we are behind the 8-ball.

This kid is still asleep.  It's 10:00.  I've been waking him up for over an hour now.  The bus comes at 6:33 a.m.  Good luck!
